Booking a B&B used to mean a phone call. We brought that back.
DirectBnB is a free directory of real Irish B&Bs and guesthouses, built so you can find and contact an owner directly, without an app taking a cut.
The problem
Booking apps changed how Ireland's B&Bs get found
Irish B&Bs and guesthouses used to be found through word of mouth, tourist office listings and a phone call to the owner. Now most of that traffic runs through a small number of global booking platforms, each charging a service fee on top of the room rate and controlling which listings a traveller sees first.
The fee adds up
Platform service fees typically run from 10 to 15 percent, sometimes charged to the guest, sometimes deducted from the owner, often both. On a modest family-run B&B, that's a meaningful cut of the takings for doing nothing more than listing a room.
The algorithm decides who you see
Search ranking on the big platforms rewards the listings that pay for promotion or have the most reviews on that specific platform, not necessarily the best B&B for your trip. A genuinely excellent, long-established B&B with a smaller online footprint can get buried.

What DirectBnB does differently
A free directory, checked listings, direct contact
No fees, anywhere
Free to browse, free to contact an owner, free to list a B&B. No commission is taken from any booking made through a DirectBnB listing.
Real, checked listings
Every B&B is checked against Fáilte Ireland's official register or verified public business details before it appears on the site.
You contact the owner
Every listing shows the owner's own phone number or email. There's no messaging inbox in the middle, no delayed responses through a support system.
Owners keep everything
The room rate you see is what the owner actually receives. Nothing is skimmed off the top for the privilege of being found.
