Business listing data

DirectBnB is a directory of Irish B&Bs and guesthouses: business name, address, county, contact details, photos and Fáilte Ireland approval rating where one applies. We rely on legitimate interest to process this limited, already-public business information for the purpose of helping travellers find and contact a B&B directly.

Where the data comes from

Listing data is sourced from two places. Approval ratings and core registration details are sourced from Fáilte Ireland's National Quality Assurance Framework Register of Accommodation, published as open data under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Contact details and photos are supplemented from public business listings such as Google Business Profiles, and photos sourced this way are served live through the source platform's own image service with attribution, not stored as downloaded files on our servers.

Your rights over a listing

If any detail on a listing is wrong, out of date, or you would like a listing removed entirely, get in touch and we will action it promptly. Under data protection law, a business owner can ask us to:

• Correct inaccurate details on a listing
• Remove a listing entirely (Article 17)
• Explain how a listing's data was sourced

Listing data is kept for as long as the directory operates, or until a business asks for it to be corrected or removed.

Contact form and enquiry data

Details submitted through the get listed or contact forms are used only to action that request, listing a B&B, answering a question, or correcting a listing, and are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

Cookies and analytics

DirectBnB uses basic, privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the site is used. No personal browsing data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising.
