Ennistymon is the largest town in north Clare, built along a single long main street lined with brightly painted nineteenth-century shopfronts. It sits right on the River Inagh, which tumbles over a wide rock shelf in the middle of town, the Ennistymon Cascades, in full view of the road and the grounds of the Falls Hotel.
