A Victorian seaside resort on the Waterford coast, built around a five-kilometre Blue Flag beach and a lively promenade.
Tramore, from the Irish Trá Mór meaning big strand, grew up as a Victorian holiday town around one of the finest beaches on the south coast, a five-kilometre run of golden sand that regularly holds Blue Flag status. The promenade behind it is properly set up for a seaside holiday, with amusements, cafés and several surf schools, including Ireland’s largest surf club, making the most of the town’s reliable Atlantic swell.
A B&B in Tramore works well both as a family seaside base and as a starting point for the wider Waterford coast: the town has its own golf course, angling and horse riding, and is close enough to Waterford city, about fifteen minutes by car, for day trips into the Viking Triangle and the Waterford Greenway, the 46km trail that runs from the city out to Dungarvan along an old railway line.
Above the bay, the Metalman, a striking cast-iron figure on a pillar at Great Newtown Head, has stood since the 19th century warning ships away from the rocks below, a good landmark for a coastal walk on a clear day.

Booking Sea Court direct, and what the rating means
A real, assessed b&b
Sea Court holds a 4-star b&b rating under Fáilte Ireland's National Quality Assurance Framework, assessed against the bedrooms, bathrooms, breakfast and welcome rather than self-declared. It's an independent signal you can trust before you book, separate from any platform's own review score.
No fees, no middleman
Ring the owner, or use the contact details on this page, and arrange the stay with the house rather than through an app. No booking fee added to your bill and no commission taken from the owner, so the room rate you agree is the room rate you pay.
A better stay, direct
Owners answer the questions a booking platform never will: whether the room at the front is quieter, how early breakfast can be served, or where to park for a few days. Speaking to the house directly is how B&Bs in Ireland were booked for decades.
